The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas presents A Conversation with Federal Judges. The purpose of this event is to give local attorneys an opportunity to get acquainted with our federal judges and to provide a forum to discuss issues of importance to the bar. Complimentary CLE credit will be available to attorneys admitted to the bar in Kansas and Missouri.
DATE, TIME AND LOCATION: This event is being held on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room PL207A of the Topeka Federal Courthouse located at 444 S.E. Quincy Street. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided to you at no cost beginning at 12:00 noon.
REGISTRATION: To register for this event, please visit our website at www.ksd.uscourts.gov. Click on "Attorneys" located at the far left side of your screen. Next, select "CLE Training", then click on "Topeka" and finally "A Conversation with Federal Judges". Seating is limited, so we suggest that you register as soon as possible. Please note that registering a guest is no longer available.
If the class is full, e-mail ksd_cmecf_training@ksd.uscourts.gov to be put on the waiting list. If you register and later find that you are unable to attend the luncheon, please cancel your registration via email to ksd_cmecf_training@ksd.uscourts.gov so that we may open up your spot to another attorney on the waiting list.
QUESTIONS FOR THE JUDGES: Please come prepared to ask the judges questions about issues of importance to you as a member of the bar. You will be asked to submit any questions you have for the judges at the time you check in.
PARKING: There is no visitor parking at the courthouse. Pay parking is available at Townsite Plaza Garage, located southwest of the courthouse, adjacent to the Bank of America building. To access the parking garage, turn east off of Kansas Avenue at either 4th or 5th Street.
SECURITY: Cell phones and other electronic devices are allowed in the building only if you have a current bar registration card and a photo ID. In order to avoid delays at the security checkpoint, we recommend that you do not bring electronic devices with you unless it is absolutely necessary.
